The character
Merlin is the one who makes the impossible feel workable. Jon's character is not magic in the fantasy sense. It is the earned kind: pattern recognition, timing, scar tissue, and the ability to help people see a path they could not see on their own. He came into the regulated world through IBM, GovCon, and aerospace and defense, then kept moving through public service, healthcare, utilities, life sciences, and mission-heavy environments where complexity is normal and pressure is constant.
Merlin's power is translation. He has worn enough hats to understand what customers are up against, and enough failures to know that experience is not theory. He sees the status quo, the orphaned problems, and the talented people wasting time on noise instead of signal — then starts converting uncertainty into action.
Why he's in your corner
Merlin cares because customers are people trying to make something happen inside systems that often resist change. When those people get promoted, recognized, thanked, or personally connected because the work helped them succeed, the job becomes more than a transaction.
